fashionROUSE: October 2014

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you all have something exciting and fun planned for this evening and weekend. This is one of my favorite holidays and I truly enjoy this time a year for so many reasons. Everything changes and becomes something new and beautiful to admire, from the weather to the atmosphere at home. The leaves change color and allow for nature to takes its course and inspire us in a whole new way. It is the time of year when we get to carve pumpkins, light candles, and start to enjoy all of the holiday festivities that occur throughout our communities and the world.

In light of the holiday spirit I chose to wear this fun cover up I got from H&M a few years back, although it was meant as a cover up for a swim suit, I found that by pairing it over a basic black tank dress I had gotten from BCBG Max Azria it took on a whole new look. One that by pairing it with a classic black leather jacket and matching black heels made it more dimensional. Then as sort of the "icing on the cake" I added my favorite Loeffler Randall metallic clutch. To me accenting the outfit with metallic gold and black set it of, and added a little something to take it from casual to sophisticated.

As most of you know I love the idea of dressing in a color palette that is not only festive and neutral, but pertinent to the time of year and the season. To me this is my ideal Halloween/ fall outfit. Something that can be layered and taken from day to night easily makes for an essential outfit. Normally my days are pretty long between meetings, work, and social events. So having outfits like this that can change quickly just through accessories or one layering piece are not only ideal but necessary.
