Its all about the boots

( Photos by Shawn Kruse )

(  Vera Wang sweater and blouse, American Eagle shorts, BCBG jewelry, and Steve Madden boots )

My green boots are something that I have owned for just about eight years.  However, they have only been worn a total of about six or seven times.  As you can see they are extremely rare and unique.  When I saw them, I knew immediately that I had to have them.  They were everything that stood for "different" in my eyes.  It has been a purchase I definitely do not regret.  So every now and then I break them out just to add some variety to my outfit.  They matched my sweater and seemed to be the perfect pairing for this set of pictures I took.  As I'm sure you can tell by now, I am all about mixing casual will dressy to get a disheveled  yet put together look.

A walk down the lane

( Photos by Shawn Kruse )

( Bar III jacket, H&M basic black tank, Paige skinny trousers, BP flats, BCBG jewelry, and Bliss purse )

Some days I just feel the need to get outside and enjoy the fresh air.  To take it all in and absorb as much sun as possible.  I have found that when I am wandering, my mind is the most open it can be.  Open to anything that comes my way.  I find that I am inspired by some of the smallest things, in the biggest way.
A walk isn't just a reason to throw on yoga pants and a sweatshirt.  It is a reason to use the casual side of your wardrobe and experiment in ways that sometimes aren't possible when dressing up.  In the town I am from, casual is the norm.  And I always seemed to stick out like a sore thumb because of my unique taste for clothing.  However, I found that at this time in my life it is nice to revert back to the days when I would embrace my casual side and spice it up with a few accessories.  So here's to where we come from and how it has helped shape us into who we are!

Up against a Wall

( Photos by Shawn Kruse )

( American Rag blouse, American Eagle shorts, BCBG ring and clutch, vintage necklace and bracelet, and Carlos wedges )

It seems that life loves to keep you on your toes, or in my case wedges.  There are days I wake up and realize that the weather isn't prime, and I am extremely disappointed.  But for the days that are beautiful and amazing in every single way, I am completely thrilled.  I feel as though I am always making the decision on what to wear and where to take the pictures.  Fortunately for me, both decisions were extremely easy for me that day.  I had just scored a new blouse and shorts and couldn't wait to take them for a test run.  Lucky for me it all worked out perfectly!

Showing off the Sunnies

(Photos by myself)

( Michael Kors blouse, Look #1&2: Faux Ray Ban sunglasses, Look #3: American Eagle sunglasses, Look #4: Ray Ban sunglasses, Look #5: H&M sunglasses, Look #6: Coach sunglasses, all accessories BCBG Max Azria)

Every girl loves a good accessory.  And what better accessory than a pair of sunglasses, preferably a pair to match every outfit.  I tend to opt for a good core set of about six, and that seems to match everything I wear.  Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Ray Bans.  But I also know that accidents happen, so I blend some cute inexpensive sunglasses into my collection as well.  They look just like the real thing but for a severe fraction of the cost.  Summer is a time to expose your skin to the sun and enjoy the weather, and sunglasses are the perfect accessory to accompany that.

Gold & flowers

Every now and then the time calls for a stroll in the park.  While I was visiting home the other weekend for Mother's Day, the weather was so beautiful I could not pass up the opportunity.
In my home town there is an arboretum that is covered with beautiful greenery and luscious rose bushes.  It is a favorite spot of mine to go anytime I visit.  I decided to embrace the beautiful weather and seize the opportunity to enjoy mother nature at her finest, after all it was Mother's Day!
Wearing comfy attire and sensible sandals for the endless walking that lay ahead of me, I spent that afternoon taking in the scenery and just enjoying the weather.

Apple Blossom Photo Diary

( Photos by Shawn Kruse and myself )

Apple Blossom is an event that happens once a year every year in Wenatchee, WA.  It was the first apple blossom in the country and is also the oldest festival in the state.  It was created to help celebrate the community and reflect on the importance of the apple industry.  Over the past few decades it has transformed into a more integrated festival.  There are now parades, a food festival, a beauty pageant, a carnival, and many other very entertaining activities.

Now this festival might be old in years, but it is not old in style.  The whole idea is to bring an urban edge to something historic.  From the concerts in the park to roaming the food fair it is easy to accomplish this.  I opted to wear super comfy and casual clothes due to the excessive heat.  The weather was so beautiful and was a luxury for this time of year.  This festival was a successful one and I plan on attending it again someday.
