Stoned

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  We are now closing in on not only the end of the month but the end of summer as well. (The official first day of fall is tomorrow!)  Which in part sort of saddens me.  I love wearing dresses and spending and abundance of time outside enjoying the summer air and all of the activities that go with it.  However, on the other hand I love being layered up and cozy feeling!  Especially on the days where I get to stay inside while it rains reading a good book or watching a movie all snuggled up on the couch (one of my favorite things to do!)

Regardless of whichever you prefer (or like me both) I wanted to share this outfit with you!  I shot this look with a new photographer the other week in downtown Seattle at a little hidden park we found! This Tildon dress has been a staple for me all summer, and has been dressed up and down and worn to many different events I've attended.  I love how flattering the silhouette is, the touching on the side and the length of the dress help elongate my look in ways I absolutely LOVE!  The second thing that initially drew me to this dress was its color, because the grey has a hint of blue to it I knew it would match nearly any color I paired it with.  The last thing that really attracted me to this dress was the fact that I could layer it up as the seasons changed and still get good use out of it!  By just adding a sweater or jacket and boots this dress immediately is taken into fall mode!  Can't wait to share with you all some of the layerin I'll be doing for fall!

Stay tuned later this week for a peak into my daily beauty routine, and the products I'm using to help transition into fall mode!

LBD + fur

A few weeks ago my grandmother invited me to accompany her to a state banquet dinner this last weekend for a group she belongs to called the National Association for the Daughters of the Colonists.  This group is extremely conservative and has a traditional mindset, ergo the dress code for such event is something more classic.  I always enjoy going to these dinners, not only because I get the chance to dress up, but because I get to step into another world and spend time with family.

For my formal look I decided to keep in knee length instead of floor length, I felt this was a better option considering I was going to be the youngest person at this event.  I also decided to go with my favorite LBD, this one-shoulder draped dress from BCBG Max Azria.  This dress is such a great basic because I have been able to pair it with a variety of accessories and it has a different look every time!  I like the idea of bringing in a fun/elegant vibe with my accessories, so I opted for a pastel colored chunky necklace and paired it with a cream colored fur shawl to help keep me warm.  The shoes I'm wearing are Badgley Mischka and I just got them a few weeks ago for a great price at Nordstrom!  Overall this is one of my favorite looks I've put together for a formal dinner lately!

I hope everyone is having a great day!  Don't forget to check our social media today for a sneak peak of what I'm wearing to Fashion First tonight in Seattle!
