The other weekend I made a trip to Palm Springs as a end of the Birthday week celebration.  The idea of lounging by the pool all weekend out in the middle of the desert was extremely intriguing to me! Needless to say I indeed spent the majority of my weekend hanging out by the pool enjoying the extreme heat that seemed to just linger over us.  

The whole trip was so relaxing and inspiring.  The La Quinta resort where I stayed was so beautiful, there is all kinds of rich detailing everywhere!  Even down to the trees, which interestingly enough they paint the bottom of the trunk white, to deflect the sunshine.  

The icing on top of the cake was stopping in Palm Dessert to do a little shopping on the way back to LA.  I included a pic for you of my purchases from Burberry and BCBG Maxazria, two of my favorite stores! Overall it was an amazing trip, and I feel so blessed to have been able to take it.

Last week I enjoyed being back in Los Angeles for a brief vacation, that also included going to Palm Springs for the weekend.  I must say one of the many highlights of my week other than getting to see some of my closest friends was the SHOPPING!  Many people have asked me if I would showcase what I bought, so here you go... My new favorite emerald colored pants have officially made their first appearance.  I grabbed these Joes trousers the second I saw them!  Emerald is one of my favorite colors and always has been, so when I saw them I just knew they had to come home with me.  And like any other favorite purchase of mine they needed to make an appearance.  These will definitely be a staple in my fall wardrobe, along with some other new purchases I can't wait to share with you on tomorrow's blog post! 

Flower Girls in a Fairytale

A few months ago a close friend of mine asked me if I would be interested in making some flower girl dresses for her "mock" wedding photo shoot she was doing.  I OF COURSE said yes!  I love doing side designing projects.  Mostly because they consist of me designing something I normally wouldn't.  

In this case, it was flower girl dresses for a "Fairy Tale" inspired mock wedding.  Immediately I thought of pastel colors paired with a cream base, and bits of gold sparkles mixed in.  It seemed very cohesive with the theme.  We decided to add fairy wings and gold sparkled flats to enhance the overall look of the dresses.  When the day finally came to do the shoot, the dresses couldn't have blended in more perfectly.  Overall I would say it was a HUGE success.  So much so that we had an article published in Bride Magazine about the "mock" wedding photo shoot.

Bohemian Flowerchild

This is my second run with this AMAZING Michael Kors blouse I snagged a few months ago.  I love the femininity of the fabric, and how well it contrasted with the shorts.  The whole look was very bohemian inspired and enhanced with a touch of gold accents.  

While strolling along the sidewalk downtown we spotted these beautiful flowers that just seemed to fit perfectly with my bohemian look I had created.  And as you can see, the flowers just enhanced my goofy side as well as the overall look.

Even though I have a car, I still like to take the train every now and then.  There's just something about waiting for the train that makes me feel like a giddy little child again.  Hence the inspiration for this photo shoot. 

I wanted to embrace the comfy atmosphere of taking the train, while still having a fashion appeal.  For anyone who knows me that means heels and jewelry!
