Topshelf

A few months ago I stumbled across one of my favorite little boutiques in downtown Seattle called Fini and.  While I was there, I stumbled across a display with these intriguing brass bracelets that had all of these interesting words on them.  After staring at all of them for what seemed to be forever, I finally decided on the one that had the word "Badass" written on it in cursive.  It seemed to be the most unusual one and seemed to fit my alter ego personality perfectly!

This cuff is so cool and such a statement piece, I decided to match my whole outfit around it!  Because the cuff was made of brass, I matched the rest of my accessory hardware to it.  I opted for a more casual look to accent the jewelry.  Choosing a printed blouse and pairing it with destructed boyfriend jeans make for a great casual combination any day!  And no outfit is complete without a pair of great shoes, in this case... grey suede heels from my favorite, Sam Edelman!

Mind your Mittens

Good afternoon everyone!  I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season so far!  Here in the PNW the weather is starting to get a little warmer (something I will NOT be complaining about), it's the middle of winter and it's in the 60's, not too bad if you ask me!

Although it may be a little warmer out, the season still calls for sweaters and warm attire.  I opted for a short sleeved sweater, my go-to J Brand skinnies, and blue accents to match.  I almost felt like a smurf wearing so much blue.  However, being able to balance it out with the creme I the sweater and the different shades of blue made it a little less smurfette.  I like to be consistent with my looks, the idea of having a similar color palette or even a monochromatic look is very appealing to me.  It allows me to use bold colors or patterns in a way that is not overwhelming to my look.  Stripes can be a very tricky pattern to wear.  Any shape or size can wear stripes, it's just the type of stripes that makes the difference.  For example: smaller stripes look great on EVERYONE! But bigger, bolder stripes, need to be worn in a way that does NOT accent you body in an unflattering way.

Check back in tomorrow to see my wish list for this holiday season, and where to get the best last minute gifts for those hard people on your list!

Classic + Casual

There's nothing more classic than a black tuxedo blazer.  It's timeless, you can wear it season after season, and it pairs EXTREMELY well with just about everything in your wardrobe.

I opted for a more casual take this time, pairing mine with my favorite boyfriend jeans, a lace bralette (to make it a little more flirty), and my go to Steve Madden heels that never seem to fail me.  I love the idea of experimenting with different classic pieces and finding new ways to wear them.  For me, it's what makes fashion exciting.  There is always something new to see and put together.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Graphic and Plaid

Every outfit is about balance, you can wear the craziest print, a basic tee, or a super out there piece of jewelry, and as long as you balance it out, the outcome can be trend setting!

This graphic tee I got while I was on vacation in Los Angeles last year, it is easily one of my favorites, and a good go to for me.  This being said I wanted to find a way to wear it that don't consist of jeans or yoga pants.  Addidng the plaid pencil skirt to it ust seemed to set it off for me.  Especially since the skirt had similar colors in it's pattern as in the tee!  By adding some blue toned accessories it pulled the whole look together, and by adding cobalt blue heels it made the blue accessories I chose "pop" even more!  I loved this look so much, I'm on the hunt for another great graphic tee to go with a red pencil skirt I have!

Comfy attire

Happy BLACK FRIDAY!!! To some they might not know what this day is, however, to most this is the best day of the year to go shopping.  Why? you may ask, because ALL retailers have amazing deals and you can score the newest items at the lowest prices.

Traditionally this is a day where mothers and daughters get up early, grab some coffee, and spend the whole day shopping till their hearts content for their loved ones!  This can also be a long day emotionally and physically.  Ergo the most important factor when planning your day... what will you wear?!?  I opt for something comfy and casual.  Although something saucy and cute is desirable to show of your style, it is also unrealistic in the comfort factor.  When you will be on your feet most of the day, carrying lots of packages (if you get some good deals), and out for a majority of the day.  It is ideal to wear something that will make you feel comfortable YET fashionable.  A casual look such as jeans and boots with a cute sweater is an ideal go to for me!  I always feel more put together but just as relaxed as if I'm at home.

I hope you all have a great BLACK FRIDAY!!! Happy Shopping!

Fall tones

There are days where a jaunt downtown along with a twirl here and there are the perfect way to start your day!  And if your going to twirl, you better be wearing a twirl worthy dress!  This outfit was all about that concept... a twirl worthy dress, with a side of neutral accessories to help set it off.

This time of year I feel I always have a more polished and refined look, as opposed to the rest of the year where I embrace a more casual vibe.  Although these days, they all seem to be mixing together.  This Bar III dress was one I invested in a few years ago and it has been a great neutral piece for me season after season.  All I have to do is switch the accessories up and it takes on a whole new look.   And because were in fall, any outfit isn't complete without a fun pair of ankle boots to pull the whole look together!

I hope everyone is having a great holiday week so far!

Casual Bordeaux

One of my favorite parts about living in the PNW... getting to layer up for fall!  There is something so intriguing to me about adding different layers and textures together to create an overall aesthetic that is mismatched to perfection!  Plus who doesn't love the chance to wear more clothes from your closet?!?  Happy layering everyone!!!

The Cats MEOW

So happy to be able to share these images with all of you!  We took these pictures a few weeks ago at the Seattle Public Library in downtown Seattle.  If you haven't been, the library is 10 stories of beauty.  From the outside the building is complete glass, but from the inside the building is vibrant and structured with the most innate details.  There are floors that overlook other areas of the library and there are floors that seem to be their own unique world.  We spent about 2 hours there shooting some of my favorite looks I pulled together.  And let me just say that 2 hours did not seem to be enough!

For this look I decided to pull out some of my favorite pieces from the past and put them in the mix!  This Issac Mizrahi sweater I had gotten a few years ago while thrift shopping in my home town and the leather shorts I picked up a few years ago while I was on vacation in Los Angeles.  Everything else in my outfit are items I've picked up in the last few months while being here in Seattle.  I chose to accent my outfit with gold details to enhance the overall aesthetic and create a consistency within my outfit.

I love the idea that you can mix and match things from your past and put together a unique one-of-a-kind look that consists of pieces no one else will be wearing.  For me that is part of the excitement.  Knowing that someone else may have the same item on as me, but not the whole outfit.  I have always loved being the odd ball out and dressing differently than others for as long as I can remember.  No surprise that as an adult nothing has changed.  The one thing that I will always stand for is having a unique sense of style and the mindset that I will always be a fashion chameleon.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!
